(And no, it wasn’t because of AI or a TikTok dance 😄)
Last month, one of my posts went viral. (It’s in Dutch but I’ll make a breakdown below!)
The numbers: yes, we do love them maybe a little too much sometimes:
📈 60,000+ impressions
👥 40,000+ unique LinkedIn users reached
👤 150+ profile visits
💬 230+ comments and likes
🐵 And yes… I may or may not have been walking around the house like Conor McGregor ever since 👇🏼

Fun? Absolutely.
Does this tell the whole story? Not quite.
So… what was that viral post actually about?
About Gamma (a DIY shop).
And Luk Wyns (a famous Belgian actor and director).
About how Gamma lost 50% of its revenue when they stopped using him as the face of their campaign and how, just six weeks after his return, sales went right back to normal.
Six weeks after he once again said his legendary “Mannekes?”-sentence. (Hold on, it will get clear)
Powerful story, right?
But honestly?
That’s not the only reason the post went viral.
So… why did it really take off?
After thinking about it for a bit, here’s what I realised 👇🏼
1️⃣ I truly believe in what I’m saying
The power of visibility, personal branding, recognition that’s not just a marketing slogan to me.
It’s a belief. And you can feel the difference in the messages.
2️⃣ I keep repeating my message
Yes, I sound like a broken record sometimes haha.
But consistency beats genius in the long run.
(Or rather, the two go hand in hand 🤝🏼)
Say something once, and no one notices.
Say it again and again — in new forms, with real examples — and people start to listen.
3️⃣ Relevance works
That Gamma story had just aired on Bar Goens, the TV show by the one and only Eric Goens.
So there was a hook to the now.
And I linked that moment of relevance to my own story.
That’s what makes it engaging: people recognise something familiar and discover your point of view.
4️⃣ A little bit of luck
Timing.
The algorithm.
Who shares it.
What’s trending that day.
You can’t control it all.
But by posting regularly, you make yourself discoverable to luck.
Consistency = increasing your odds of getting lucky.
Could I have predicted it?
Nope.
And that’s exactly the beauty of organic posting.
You never know what will hit.
But you do know one thing:
If you don’t post, nothing happens.
So what do you do?
You keep planting seeds.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
Sometimes something blooms. 🌱
And even I have to remind myself:
It’s not about the views (even if they still give me a small dopamine hit 😅).
It’s about who you reach, what you share, and most importantly: why you do it.
And you?
📣 Have you ever had a post where you thought, “WTF is happening right now?!”
Or the opposite: you poured hours into it, and no one saw it?
Let me know: send me a message, a DM, or even a carrier pigeon whatever floats your boat.
I read (almost) everything. 👀
